The WA Board of Health is proposing a broad reaching set of rules that will significantly impact trail riders. Basically it prohibits any type of animal manure to be left on the ground when the animal is off your property. I believe that it would be appropriate for equestrians to work with the State to find a workable solution. Otherwise, if hikers or mountain bikers complain about horse manure on trails we may be prohibited from using the trails. Back Country Horsemen is working on a response and recommended actions.
