Bow, WA – October 7, 2015
When it comes to producing Quarter Horse champions, trainer Sue Sultze is a proven master. Recognized AQHA Professional Horsemen Sultze, and her husband Tom Pasma, train horses and riders for top competition at their Double S Quarter Horse operation in Bow.
“A huge shout out of thanks to Sue Sultze for her ongoing patience, passion, and support, in helping me reach my 2015 goal of competing in the Level 1 AQHA championships in Las Vegas!” said Lori Seligmann of Cle Elum. “Without Sue’s confidence in me, ongoing lessons, and expert advice, I would not be where I am today, a top ten finalist in two divisions! Woohoo!” Seligmann cheered.
After breaking her fibula in February, and being in a cast until June 15, Seligmann said she was sure her opportunity to compete was lost. Last year, Seligmann’s horsemanship qualified her to compete in this year’s championship event, and she set as her personal goal to do so. After the injury, however, she understandably lost her momentum and became discouraged with the amount of training time lost during this summer’s show season. Sultze and Pasma encouraged to her to just push forward and go for it. Seligmann agreed, and her efforts paid off. Rewarded with two top ten places, fifth in Ranch Riding, and ninth in Reining, out of a large field of competitive riders, Seligmann reflected, “Who ever would have thought?”
Sultze and Pasma knew Seligmann, a breast cancer survivor, was no stranger to set backs and would achieve her goal with focused determination. Seligmann is indeed pleased to have accomplished her objective. “I also need to thank my pony, Fletch It,” she said, whom Pasma and Sulze bought, trained, and then sold to Seligmann two years ago. ”Love that guy!” said Seligmann, “Thanks Double S Quarter Horses for everything!”
