How to change your Facebook Business page URL for a Professional Appearance.

When creating a business page on Facebook, the web address or URL is rather long, awkward,  and looks something like this:

https://www.facebook.com/red-barn-farm/2694875953729865?

Fortunately, once you have at least 25 Likes on your page you can easily change your Facebook Business page URL to something like this:

https://www.facebook.com/RedBarnFarm

A word of caution, you only get to make this change once so watch for typos and make sure you’re happy with it before you click the confirm button.

1) Login to Facebook under your administrator account for your business page.

2) Go to your Facebook business page and highlight your URL name.

  https://www.facebook.com/red-barn-farm/694875953729865?

3) Type in “username/”. https://www.facebook.com/username/

4)  A window offering to change Username and Create your Facebook web address will open. In the web address section select your business name from the Pages dropdown window.

5) Your current URL will appear: https://www.facebook.com/red-barn-farm/2694875953729865? Change the text to read: https://www.facebook.com/RedBarnFarm and click “Check Availability”.

6) If not available, it is already in use.  Try other variations until you are satisfied with the results and it is available.  Click the “Confirm” button and view your new, professional URL!

7) Remember to edit your new facebook URL in your NW Equine listing 🙂

Here are a few tips for changing your Facebook business page username:
– Make it short.
– Your Facebook username should be memorable.
– It should match the common name of your business.
– Capitalize the first letter of each word to make it more readable.
– No spaces or special characters. Only a-z and 0-9 are allowed.
– Double and triple check for errors before you save your new FB business page username. You only get one try at this.
– Preview some of the YouTube videos to become familiar with this process. Select new 2014 or 2015 dated videos.
