WASART Offers Aid to Downed Horse

111 WASARTWinlock, WA – Dec 5, 2015

On Saturday, the Washington State Animal Response Team was called to assist in raising a horse who was down and could not stand. A woman had rescued the horses only a couple of days before from a situation where neither horse was getting enough to eat. Both horses were thin, but one was much more so with ribs and hips clearly visible where they shouldn’t be.  A couple days after getting the horses, the thinner one, an 18 year old Thoroughbred gelding named Anakin, was down and could not stand.

Check out this KOMO interview with Bonnie of Save A Forgotten Equine – S.A.F.E. for the latest good news on Anakin and his interesting history.

WASART rescues pets and livestock in emergency situations.  See the WASART Facebook page for more stories and photos about the rescues they have been involved with.  Along with the cards and ornaments available from their first holiday fundraiser.

WASART is supported by donations, for more information see their website.
