This unique experience for riders will help you improve your connection with your horse through your seat.
Enjoy a combined yoga experience in a mat class followed by a private session on the lunge on one of our safe and snuggly Norwegian Fjord school horses.
Yoga principles guide body and breath awareness and allow you to tune in more deeply to your riding. The improved balance, softness, and feel you will get in this clinic will translate to your ride on your horse whether you show or just ride for fun.
Our lunge sessions are done bareback with a vaulting surcingle (large handles!) for security while enhancing your ability to feel the horse and make micro adjustments in your balance.
The mat and lunge sessions are led by Solveig Watanabe, a licensed yoga instructor, riding instructor, lifelong horsewoman, and breeder/trainer of Norwegian Fjord horses.
“In my journey towards proper balanced alignment and riding, Yoga became the one thing that made the biggest difference. I use Yoga techniques on and off the horse to help riders take control of their bodies and minds which in turn improves their riding and gives them better communication with, and control over, their horse. I am non discipline specific although I align with classical dressage principals. I subscribe to a “less is more” approach to riding and sometimes refer to myself as a riding minimalist. Once you have balance and control it is amazing what a small degree of movement can do. Riding can become almost effortless. That is my teaching goal for you and your horse.” – Solveig Watanabe
