Do You Need an Electric Logging Device and/or Commercial Driver’s License?
This forum will address the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) new rules regarding commercial driver’s license (CDL) to haul horses. And the rule requiring the use of electronic logging devices (ELDs) in commercial motor vehicles (CMVs), which will be in effect on March 18, 2018.
Speaker Glenn McGoff with North Cross Commercial Driving School will be addressing:
- CDLs
- ELDs
- CMVs
- Weight limits
- Enforcement
- Compliance
Discussion followed by a question and answer segment addressing the effect of these new regulations on the horse industry from trail riding to competition events.
Join us Wednesday January 10th at the Evergreen Fairgrounds 4-H building #501 at 7pm. (Noted on map with purple building.)
What to bring:
- Note pad and pen as there will not be hand outs.
- Have info from your towing vehicle VIN tag and trailer VIN tag for your GVWR amounts as they will affect what is required. ( It’s about the “R” which is what you can haul, not what you weigh and not your weight of the load you are hauling.)
- Your questions to better understand these new regulations.
